Bruno HelenoBruno Heleno, MD, PhD 

Workplace: NOVA Medical School and USF das Conchas, a primary care surgery in Lisbon.
Teaching topics: prevention and screening to medical students and evidence based medicine to GP trainees.
As a researcher… Affiliated at CEDOC, a chronic disease research centre in NOVA medical School. Main research fields: quaternary prevention, overdiagnosis and cancer screening and dissemination of clinical guidelines.
What is your medical speciality? What do you like the most in your speciality?
I am a general practitioner. It allows me to meet extraordinary people, to help some of them to better cope with illness and help others to stay healthy.



Jaime Correia SousaJaime Correia de Sousa, MD, PhD 

Workplace: Associate Professor in the School of Medicine in the University of Minho, Portugal, Family Physician in a group practice in Matosinhos, Porto.

Teaching topics: Head of the Scientific Area of Community Health. Coordinator of several Curricular Units in the Integrated Masters in Medicine of the School of Medicine of the University of Minho since 2004. Tutor of Vocational Training Trainees in Family Medicine since 1992. Course Director and group coordinator in the International Workshops organized by the Slovenian Family Physician’s Association and EURACT aimed at the training of teachers in family medicine from 1992 to 2016.   

Other appointments: Member of the Board and Past-President of the International Primary Care Respiratory Group.

Member of the Planning Committee of the Global Alliance against Respiratory Diseases (GARD – WHO).

Research topics: Chronic Respiratory Diseases, namely Asthma, Allergic Rhinitis and COPD in Primary Health Care




John BrodersenJohn Brodersen, PhD, MD 

Workplace: Professor at the Centre of Research and Education in General Practice, Department of Public Health, University of Copenhagen & at the Primary Health Care Research Unit, Zealand Region, Denmark.  
Teaching topics: prevention, medical screening and evidence-based medicine. 
Reasearch topics: His research is focused on the balance between benefits and harms of medical prevention with a special interest in the field of development and validation of questionnaires to measure psychosocial consequences of medical screening and to measure the degree of overdiagnosis in medical screening. 



Mateja BulcMateja Bulc, PhD, MD 

Workplace: Ljubljana Community Health Center, as a GP (family physician), and as a teacher at the Department of Family Medicine of Ljubljana Medical Faculty of University of Ljubljana.
Teaching topics: Family Medicine for students of Medical faculty, 6th year; Trainees in Family medicine specialist training; Specialists in GP/FM - CME/CPD.
Research topics: Prevention and Health Promotion.
