O Fórum MGF XXI foi criado em Janeiro de 2003 pelo Dr. João Sequeira Carlos. Inicialmente sob o nome MGF Internos, pretendeu “reunir num espaço virtual os internos de MGF e jovens médicos de família”. Entretanto, com a mudança de nome, alargou-se o horizonte do fórum à participação de toda a nova geração de estudantes, internos, recém-especialistas e especialistas nacionais e internacionais que “acreditam que a MGF é o paradigma da Medicina do século XXI”.
The Virtual Forum MGFXXI was created in January 2003 by Dr. João Sequeira Carlos. Initially under the name MGF Internos (MF Trainees), intended to “bring together in a virtual space MF trainees and young family physicians”. Ciclos de Conferências MGF XXI / MGF XXI Conference Cycle
A ideia e a concretização da organização dos Ciclos de Conferência MGF XXI surgiu de dois internos, Luís Filipe Cavadas e Tiago Villanueva, ambos moderadores juntamente com Daniel Pinto do Fórum MGF XXI.
O Ciclo de Conferências de MGF XXI pretende ser o ponto de encontro para uma conversa informal, troca de ideias, opiniões e experiências entre os Membros do Fórum MGF XXI e um Convidado Especial.
O Convidado Especial está ligado à MGF, ou não pertencendo à MGF, tem uma importante influência na nossa prática clínica e no nosso enriquecimento pessoal. Esse Convidado é escolhido pelos respectivos Membros do Grupo, podendo ser Médico Especialista de MGF, ou Interno de MGF Português ou Estrangeiro, Médico de outra especialidade, outros profissionais de saúde, políticos, artistas, etc.
É assim um local privilegiado que permite juntar Internos e Especialistas de MGF de Portugal numa discussão Impar e de Elevado Nível.
Todos os membros do Fórum MGF XXI têm a oportunidade de participar voluntária e activamente na conferência por escrito, com perguntas para o convidado especial, ou lendo todas as perguntas e respostas da conferência.
Durante as conferências o Fórum continua a funcionar normalmente, em paralelo com a conferência.

The MGF XXI Conference Cycle is a Virtual Conference organized by the Portuguese trainees Luís Filipe Cavadas and Tiago Villanueva in the Virtual Forum MGFXXI, which is a Portuguese Family Medicine electronic list-server comprised of Family Medicine Residents and Family Physicians.
The MGFXXI Conference Cycle aims to be the meeting point for informal conversations, exchange of ideas, opinions and experiences among the Members of the MGFXXI Forum and a Special Guest.
“The Special Guest is a professional working in the field of Family Medicine. In the event that the Special Guest does not work in the field of Family Medicine, he/she will be extremely influential regarding our clinical work and in our personal enrichment. The Special Guest is chosen by the Members of the Group, and can include Family Physicians, Portuguese or Overseas Family Physicians, Physicians from other specialties, other healthcare professionals, politicians, artists, etc…”
This Forum is thus a privileged setting that fosters the gathering of Family Medicine Residents and specialists in Family Medicine towards a unique and high-level discussion.
